Activision, a popular video game publisher released Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 on September 29, 2015 for the next generation consoles. Since then, the game has received nothing but bad reviews due to its clear lack of ambition and numerous technical issues throughout the entirety of the game. Developers Robomodo and Disruptive Games have since responded to those issues with the recent 1.03 update, the staggering 7.8 GB update which seems to have patched those game breaking glitches/bugs that existed since its release. It's also worth mentioning that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game were delayed so Activision could focus their attention on the most recent 1.03 patch for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. With that said, the game now appears to be in working order.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 was recently released on last generation consoles for just the North Americans only. A spokesperson for Activision said that it currently had no plans to ship the last-gen version across the UK, which was most likely due to the lack of sales on current gen. However, Europeans will have the option to download Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 digitally on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The Xbox 360’s digital download can be purchased now from the Xbox Marketplace. The PlayStation 3 however will have to wait until the Store updates with new content tomorrow. Those of you in Europe that would prefer a physical copy of the game. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 should be available for purchase on Amazon within the next few days.
All in all, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5's presentation was well done and the game did offer some good moments. However, the numerous bugs let the game down big time. Whether or not it’ll recover from the developers many mistakes is yet to be seen.
This game can be purchased now for $29.99 from the Xbox Marketplace.
