Tips on Preventing You Xbox Live Gamertag from Being Stolen. and Ways to Recover it.

    1. Give your info to no one (Full name, phone #'s.)
    2. Make sure the info on your tag is a series of letters and Numbers only you know, 99% of 'Hacking' I've seen is people finder and the password reset off passport.net without using the windows live id. Or they just trace your IP down to your house (Those people are whiter than the background of this text.)
    3. Don't put your first and last name in your name feild on your gamertag
    4. Don't give it to 'Boosters' online.
    5. Don't give it to someone who will magically get you recon armor.
    6. Attatch a second email to your windows live id for reset purposes
    7. Make sure your email password and windows live id password do not match. (Its best to use an email address from another host besides MSN or hotmail or live, the passwords can be different that way.)

Ways to get it back if stolen
    1. Call 1-800-4MYXBOX with all the gamertag info ready.
    2. Get on passport.net and try to reset your password via email reset.
    3. Keep a dead/deactivated Credit Card on your tag for info on the tag only you will have, and since its dead it can't be charged to.

Let me know if theres more ways to do this.

Yeah, this is pretty much just common sense

Also one thing you can do is have a dead/deactivated credit card on your account, they cant buy anything and its easier for microsoft to confirm its yours account if they change your email.

    This really isn't necessary.

Just don't give out your **** to people who you don't trust.

Hell don't give it out at all.

It is common sense, but some people want recon or fable II unlocks or Golden lancers, 50s in some game, and some people think when they're being stalked for personal info its 'Flattery' and then think they got 'Hacked' when they can't get on Xbox Live... Its common sense but some people aren't the brightest bulb in the box...
