Hey there 7S,

It's discussion time. GTA V certainly isn't a new game, and it is very clear that rockstar is an experienced game company that would be able to have the reputability to hire some of the industries top developers and design leaders. So, after all these years, has nobody wondered why glitching is still a viable thing? Rockstar likes to put it out there that it is such a horrible offense, yet every day there seems to be a new method to essentially accomplish a few overall general tasks in the game, it being money glitches, mission glitches, car glitches, or item/person glitches. After years there is still plenty of them out there, new ones day in and day out. The YouTube communication it and other smaller communities such as ours is a testament that it keeps GTA V going for us, it's keeps us around. With glitches often comes money, with more money the games global economy is stimulated and more content gets bought into, and with that the participation and success of their DLC and Stock content floureshes... Often bringing people back to the game. Do you possibly think that it is a genuine motive of Rockstar to keep these loopholes around or do you genuinely think that the smarts of the gaming community is enough to constantly outsmart the developers by finding exploits in their game? Let me know what you think and why!

Lol is all I need to say.

R* are patching sh*t very quickly these days, it can take a day or so to patch or like what they're doing now, wait for the next DLC to drop then patch.

Our "community" is too smart for R* hence why we keep finding good glitches.

Most of the glitches are very similar though, you'd think they would patch all methods within an update.

As for the OP, there are many glitches as you said, but they can't patch them if they don't know they exist, right? It would be a good idea for them to have a team of glitchers to find the glitches so they can patch them, they probably already do to be honest. It all comes back down to the amount of glitches, there's too many glitches for them to be able to keep track of.

Another reason as to why they could have many glitches is because they keep adding components to the game without testing them properly. I'm sure they can only test them to a certain extent, but you'd expect them to continue testing once it's released.

There are apparently some Rockstar employees that lurk these threads, so maybe you'll get some more insight on this.

No, if it wasnt glitches ther would be many with channels with gameplay. Look at how the latest bugs have gone. Its no longer start a race and get inside of lsc then back out of race.
There are many things needed to produce a bug then much more to exploit it.
Why is it some feel like they need to somehow justify stealing from rockstar? Its always either "we balance the game" or "we promote for them".

Truth is without anyone exploiting bugs there would still exist many functions that are now removed as they couldnt be fixed. And all the time spent fixing could have been used to write new content.
So I guess the reality is glitchers have not only taken from rockstar but the entire gta v gamers as well.
Best thing to do is just be happy we all havent been banned and keep going.
And also, look to see that this exact thread gets made at least once a month.

I couldn’t agree more.
Imagine if you took hundreds of dollars of tangible items in the real world.
What would happen
in front of the judge?
Would he tell you
that you were banned?
lol:wink:
It’s time to call a spade a spade here.
Duping cars is taking
something from R* that they are
expecting to be compensated for.
We are most certainly not being allowed to steal their profits.
I’m sure that’s not written into their business model.

Sure, while there is that, that is ideally. Do t you think that people who would be willing to buy items would just cut the hassle and buy them in the first place? Because its out of this world to "beat the glitcher" and ultimately result in income for rockstar. There ALWAYS will be a way, they k ow that, they know it brings popularity and recognition. Free marketing.

I get your economic theory...
I just disagree that it is purposeful that glitches are possible:wink:

Yeah, but have you seen how Rockstar handles things, to them it is because it is their biggest moneymaker.

I don't think R* wants to tolerate glitching at all and I think they would punish anyone they caught if they could. If they accepted it as an unintended-but-accepted by product of the new content they provide and were quietly happy about the "free marketing" they received, they wouldn't put copyright infringements on Youtubers and aggressively try to patch some of these so quickly. It's a lot easier to find a hole than it is to plug one so they will always be on the defensive because you can't possibly code a game for every possible exception to every possible rule. Look at the obscurity of the steps of some of these give cars to friends glitches, there is no way they could have planned for that or countered it until it came out. Even then, patching it has a ripple effect on other things in the game so it absolutely takes them time to stop what's happening without negatively affecting something that they don't mean to.

Keep in mind too that R* has a monetary interest in keeping glitching out because if I'm duping a car then I am not buying a Shark card, and they promote those pretty heavily and they've apparently brought in some $500 million in revenue for them. I think the only reason some glitches last as long as they do and R* is not even more aggressive on them is because they have probably committed so much of their development staff to Red Dead 2. There is going to come a point one day where R* stops developing GTA 5 and glitches won't get patched, and it's going to be absolutely crazy in there.

I heard rumor thats when RDR 2 coming soon then Gta 5 will possible to stop release new update and its would be "dead" like old gen Gta 5 on ps3/xb360.

The updates for sure won't be as common or large-scale as gunrunning or anything like that, but I would be surprised if they stopped releasing new content for GTA 5, not for a long time. Eventually there will be a GTA 6 and there will come a point where there is no value releasing a GTA 5 update when they could include it in GTA 6, but until then, Red Dead 2 and GTA 5 are completely different experiences as games and they will attract different gamers for different reasons. In GTA they can make rocket cars and super cars and jets and flying bikes and things like that because there is a fantasy-technology aspect that Red Dead 2 can't compete with. You can only mod a horse-drawn carriage to go so fast and spinner rims on it would be amazing and hilarious, but there won't be nearly the type of customizations that you can get in GTA. Plus R* had their best financial quarter ever this year thanks to GTA 5, so to just cut it off entirely would cost them huge. My guess would be they'll push the "major" updates out before Red Dead 2, save maybe one big one for summer of next year, then bring out news cars and planes and weapons every once in a while to keep people still on GTA interested.

Gta 6 will be nice but possible future there will be Gta 6. Gta 6 will bigger than Gta 5. RDR 2 will be interesting because thats Western game lol and there will be cowboy & American Indian on RDR 2.

Rockstar must be rich because Rockstar make Gta since 1997. I was playing Gta 3, Vice City, San Andreas and 4 long time ago. Really different because they have cheat code money and they have many cheat code than Gta 5. I guess Rockstar wants Gta 5 different and more strict with rules includes policy, term and service & eula.

You need money nowadays to actually enjoy GTA V Online. Everyone's flying around in sick jets and bikes, which are pretty hard to get without having a business set up, buying shark cards for ridiculous prices (I think its essentially like £25 for a Buzzard) or without glitching considering these vehicles go for like £3Mil+. Glitches pretty much need to exist in these games for people who don't have time to grind or have £100 to spend on internet cash and R* should expect it.

I haven't glitched much on this game and I'm not enjoying it as much as I could be. Most glitches nowadays require you to have a lot of things too like a bunker, MOC, a cargobob, CEO, ect. which makes acquiring the cash hard enough as it is.

Totally agree, this game is WAY more fun when you actually have the money to enjoy the perks and newest content, and I agree that R* should expect people to find glitches and that, but I don't think they mean to tolerate it and would tackle it a lot harder if they could. Everything is outrageously overpriced for what it is and without glitching a person can expect to pretty much dedicate their life to grinding just to buy what they want. I mean, the gunrunning update alone cost about $40 million to buy everything and pay for all the research, and no one legitimately makes $40 million in a couple weeks or months time. Complete garbage pricing. But I think that's what they mean to do because this is a long-term game for them. With the different games modes and such wide variety in what you can do in online game play, they are appealing to everyone with every kind of taste. I give them credit because they seem to be trying to culture a social experience as much as a gaming experience and I think their mindset is that it's not so bad grinding through races or missions or heists or CEO/MC stuff if you're doing it with your friends (and if they offer you double money for it now and then), and they are not wrong on that. But they also count on some people being impatient or just having lives that don't allow them hours a night to spend on here, so they offer Shark cards to speed up the game for them. Users like me glitch because my real-world money will go for my kids before it goes to me buying a $3.1 million GTA-money helicopter I'll never use anyway, but my time is limited and I still want to enjoy that new content. If R* dropped all of the prices by 30% across the board in game, they wouldn't see as much glitching because people wouldn't need to. But then they wouldn't sell as many Shark cards either. And at this point, considering how much revenue they bring in from that, Shark cards drive this game. We won't see cheaper prices because cheaper in-game prices equals less real-world money for them and since glitching is money they don't make, glitching is bad for their business and something they prioritize eliminating.

I only think R* expects people to glitch not because they see it as the flip side of their inflated prices, but because no matter what they do some people still will glitch. The ones who discover these glitches don't do it because they have no cash and are desperate to buy the Coil Cyclone or whatever else is new and then buy their item and never do it again, they do it because there is a thrill in finding the bend to the rule and showing others how to skate on that edge. R* knows that and every gaming company making every game expects that someone, somewhere, is going to find a way behind the walls, regardless if it's valuable or not. Not that they like it, but it's human nature.

The way i see it they can afford to hire patchers for glitches, hell a slight loss in profit instead of paying ppl to finds bugs just have a community of ppl do it for you for free, shark card sales are too massive to care about patching all glitches

There are so many people claiming no more after rdr2.
They arent even close to the same game. When will gta 6 come? When gtav no longer has the ability to run. Has been stated by rockstar that gtav updates will stop when there is no more memory to function. Just like when they discontinued last gen. Once the console can no longer handle more data thrown its way the updates will stop. Since that is less than half way there I would guess 2019 for gta to start seeing less updates as gta 6 will begin getting built. But that could be off as well. May be even 2020.
I would guess a gta 6 release in 2022 to mark twenty years of creation. We havent even seen the need to use reload. Like when you transition from story to online. Reloading the map data to fit the particular selection. Like the earlier gta where you cross a bridge to go to anpther city and it starts to load in the new city. That would allow for another 80gb+ to be reloaded. Even the homebrew teams have proven most of the other gta maps are capable of being loaded in gta. So how far are we from filling memory? A long ways.
Here’s to breaking records in 2018.

It boils down to: as long as RS makes money from people playing GTA online (meaning people buying Shartcards), there'll be updates and DLC's.

I am a Glitcher. I have been doing the glitches since the LSC glitch making chrome adders and reselling them. I quit GTA for years because of CoD and Madden/NBA2k. After all these years I came back to GTA online because as it seems it outlasted CoD/Battlfield and other annual released games. After 4 years and a nex-gen console later I realized how R* is to me one of the best companies out there when it comes to micro transactions.

They don’t use no bullshot loot random mystery system to sell their stuff. I can buy what I want when I want. They don’t require you to buy points to just get duplicates of stuff you already own.

I owe R* a apology for glitching 10s of millions without supporting them by buying a shark card. I bought supply drops from CoD and received the same chit over and over, but R* can ensure you don’t have to keep buying the same stuff over and over. By apologizing I will buy a shark card to show my support to a wonderful company that didn’t copy the bullchit that’s going on with random extras. That’s why after 2 years of not playing GTA online I’m back!

I still glitch but I will also be buying a shark card for the doomsday dlc.
