    TO: PROGRAMMERS/MODDERS AND ALL WHO GIVE A CRAP

    I have a dream.

    - I have recently thought about the original Xbox and how we could just have a disc with an auto-installer to load unleash-x or evo-x on your hdd.

    I want to do exactly the same procedure as that, but instead of loading a whole new dash on the hdd, it would just modify the firmware in one whole step.
    -----------------------
    sounds sweet huh?
    =====================================
    I have thought about this alot lately... AND have come up with a few steps to accomplish the task. Here they are;
    > get a highly trained squad of ninja monkeys
    > get a team of spectacular coders/modders/beta testers
    > work on the project for hours on end.
    > eventually come up with an absoulteley BEAST cd-r disc with this idea on it.
    =====================================

    Basically, the cd would work like so-
    1. read the firmware on the disc drive to find its brand, version, key etc.
    2. take that data, have it modify the modded fw on the disk < ill get to that l8r...
    3. take the modded fw and overwrite it with the original firmware
    =====================================

    I know... it probably wouldn't work that easily, but with a few ideas/changes in the plan, it should come out as a somewhat stable way to succesfully mod ur 360's disc drive's fw.

    I'll need a crew of worthy, smart, reliable and awesome peoplez.
    PLEASE!!!! help me accomplish this task. it would be awesome to do this.

    =====================================

    If you have any ideas/improvements for the plan, please post them on this forum thread. Moderators - if this is in the wrong section, plz move it.

    if you would like to be a part of the team - please private message me. Please allow me a day or so to reply at most... I dont use the computer 24/7.

    Thats pretty much imposable.
    So you want to be able to put in a cd to flash your firmware. Okay
    1) You would need a backup of the origional firmware. 360 dvd drives cant write to a disc only read. So you would need a place to put it and the hardrive would be tuff to do.
    2) you would need a kernal that can actually do this(like update) and you would also need a xbox linux.
    3) Honestly this list can go on for about 10 more reasons.
    This can be done with a **** load of money and a bunch of smart *** peaple.
    but really this idea is not going to happen.

    I can program but seeing as its really not possible unless we had a devkit and and linux box. Talking about 3k worth of ****.
    But it will NEVER be possible on a regular xbox. just a linux box at the most.
