Ok, this method is the old method. I will work on this OP with updates...
Lag switch needed: I use UDP unicorn(software on my computer) My ip is set to 27.27.27.27 along with DNS. My protocol is set to PSN (since I use ps3) and I adjust my packet size (I use 36 for my connection)
Only change I noticed is: You can no longer quit online while going up to the clouds. Menu comes up but won't access the leave online..
So simple fix is, start lag, go to store. Then just press down on the D pad and swap to mike.

STEPS:
1. Park u cars at mikes house garage and save game(other chars work).
2. Go online
3. Pick a spot to leave online(different spots usually get different SP cut scenes)
KEY STEPS
4. Hit start, go to the store BUT DONT CONFIRM YET!!On the confirmation screen u must start the lag switch.
5. Confirm leaving and go to the store
6. No press down on the D-pad and select Mike and confirm
You will go up to the store
7. Stop lag and quit store
This part is luck!!
Store quits and u transition to mike(hopefully at his house)
8. Go to Mikes garage and invite a buddy to retrieve vehicle.
9. Wait in garage with vehicle until your friend is at mikes house, drive car out garage and exit. Your friend should now see the car and take it.
TROUBLE SHOOTING;
Empty Garage???
A few people including myself have had empty garages. A few steps to insure u vehicles will be in your garage follow.
1. After parking vehicle in mikes house garage save game.
2. After game saves swap to Trevor of Frank (this gets u away from vehicles; this makes the map refresh. Not sure but it looks like coming online with little movement on map erases the vehicle, prob how they patch the easy SP-MP.
3. For retrieving vehicle: I hear people use the movie theater but I drive to the weazel plaza apartment and start glitch from the street.
Frozen character?
I will start with leaving to the store.
1. Start lag and go to store and swap to mike.
2. Store starts to load, I stop lag.
Now for more time!!
3. I lower my lag(I go from 36 to around 20) and then start back up.
4. Exit store
5. Now loading back to SP with lag (can make u time out or not get put online). I start and stop the lag every sec. Once I transition to Mike or atleast see the cutscene almost complete I stop lag.
Now you are not frozen and can walk into garage.
