alright so I'm doing a DVD drive motherboard switch and the Phillips motherboard has a couple of wires soldered onto the motherboard that need temporary removal. I was researching and in a majority of the videos, the irons that were used to remove the wires were generally 15-25 watts. I have a battery powered iron that that is 6 watts and heats up to 900 degrees and I was just wondering if it will be able to melt the solder without any problems. The box says that soldering micro electronics is one of its uses but i just want some reassurance as i spent 20 bucks for it and i can return it if it does not do the trick.
I realize that i could flash it but i honestly would rather do a physical swap so please, don't recommend to flash it...
thanks for any help
