Discussion Should abgx be used anymore?

From what ive been reading c4eva ripped legit copies of over 40 games and about 1/3rd of them reported errors when there should have been none. abgx may have been giving us a false sense of security and patching our isos incorrectly. I even patched my copy or mw2 and i would be bummed to find out its false. So now im thinking since there are so many tutorials and dependable release groups is it even worth patching games or would we be better off sticking with the source?

No, you can't trust it at all anymore. I've been saying for quite a long time now that using it is stupid. This recent banning just proves me right.

I thought we clairified that its not bad rips but more like they can detect ix

DB is referring to the ABGX DB.

no c4eva ripped the games and when he double checked them with abgx many came out as bad when they couldn't have been. So apperantly the database has been patching isos with the wrong stealth files all this time.

So does this mean we shouldn't play backups until a reliable stealth program comes out? <_<

you could be waiting a while, unless you want to write it yourself....


I'm now using the 1.0.2 version but I've always had autofix turned off, for just this reason.

I think you're right, lets hope 1.0.2 is safer. Doubt it, but it's all we have.

well, I'm pleased.

just ran my wave 4 games trough it and no error's. sweet deal me thinks.

oh and for the record, I haven't been banned. (yet)

That would most likely explain why I got banned. Although I have no idea how Microsoft is banning so it could have just been random. It did seem like they banned me a little too fast.
