I've tried everything I really know of to get my sammy ms28 to be been in jf and dosflash. I've checked all the ports, the portio.sys is intalled so I have no clue. I've done liteons and benqs with the same port so I don't know why it can't detect my sammy. Anyone have any idea?

Also, I'm using a NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller.

EDIT: Using my probe 3, I got it into Vendor mode.
Vendor ID: 0x2
Device ID: 0x1C
Name: Unknown Type
Size: n/a
Type: Parallel flash with Status 0x70

Whenever I try to read the drive, I get "Unknown flash type read aborted"

Anyone know wtf is going on?

Nvm, after refreshing the ports, I could dump the fw.

What exactly are you trying to do? I have flashed 2-3 consoles with MS28 drives and you don't need a probe (Unless you are trying to recover from a bad flash.)

I am going off of memory, but this is the process I do:

1. Start jungle flasher
2. Click the MTKFlash tab
3. Click Sammy unlock (This should put the drive in vendor mode)
4. Click Read
5. Choose where you want to save the firmware
6. Download LT+2.01 blah blah blah copy DVD key over to it blah blah blah Flash the drive and done!

It flat out wouldn't recognize the drive. No matter what I tried, it wouldn't recognize. Just as a shot in the dark, I tried the probe method as described in the JF tut and somehow it actually got my computer to recognize the drive.
