Solved RRoD 0002 Question

I repaired my console error 0020 after a few minutes is appeared "error 0002" .

if i re-change the thermal paste I have any chance to recover the console?



to fix it I removed the x clamps and I replaced them with the screws and washers.

I'm going to guess that you couldn't have broken the xbox beyond repair, and that it is a short somewhere because 0002 is the CPU not getting enough power. You might have caused a short with the x-clamp replacement. Did you use nylon or plastic washers where the screws and heatsink touch the motherboard?

I dont knos why anybody uses x clanp replacement anymore. It messes **** up. I have a good feeling that is why you got 0002.

Because it costs a dollar or two and its a quick fix that people think is a permanent fix when its not. But hey I have it on a few of my xboxes because well face it who wants to pay basically the same price as a used console to have somebody reball it?

0002 is a power problem, more than likely caused by a short that broke the MOSFETs on the board. Ive only fixed like 3 of the 30 boards that i got with that error. More than likely your board is fried.

And how were you going about trying to fix these xboxes?

If Metal washers or the heatsink touch the motherboard (not GPU/CPU) then that is probably your problem.

You want nylon washers touching the board and metal washers touching heat sink and screw heads
