I just want to know the risks are?

can they scan the serial # number to see if its banned?

    Has anyone done it?

cause i took a bought a 500gb external hdd and took it out of the case and took my 20gb hdd out of my xbox and flipped them so future shop got 20gbs back instead of 500gb's and they didnt notice but this is slightly different.

I guess it would be technically, but I don't think the people working at game stop would call the police, but you never know...

No. It is not fraud. Well, not in the legal sense anyways. It is not technically illegal to sell a banned console, or even to mod the console in the first place. So i doubt any legal repercussions would ensue.

The only thing that will happen if they do see that it is banned, is give you your console back and say they cannot buy it because it is banned.

And if i remember correctly, yes, Gamestop will buy banned consoles as i believe they do not verify online till after the purchase if at all. However, this was a good three years ago, so things could have changed. I'd say its worth a try if thats your sort of thing. Just think about how pissed you would be if you bought a banned xbox though. It is a pretty shady and mean thing to do.
