Whenever I go to play a game (or genuinely on the console for 5 minutes) my corona comes up with an error message saying “shutting down due to ventilation” and shows red ring.
I’m pretty sure it might be the EDRAM causing the problem but idk how to fix it, here’s the temperatures

CPU: 45.9C
GPU: 40.8C
EDRAM: 81.0C
MOBO: 28.2C

If you could help out then that would be appreciated as im lost rn.
Everytime I try to do something it just shuts down due to ventilation even though I’ve cleaned and checked the vent anyway.

Those are all fairly low, the only one in it's normal spot is the edram. Do you have your fan cranked really high?

When was the last time the console was opened and cleaned? Dust can cause heating errors as well as bad thermal compound. It may just need a good cleaning and some new thermal paste.

Also average temps on a 360 are in the range of 75-85 degrees Celsius on all chips.

I recently just bought this console so I have no idea if it’s been cleaned or not in the inside so my guess is I’ll have to take it apart? I would of shown you a video of what’s happening so you could understand my problem

You can try moving the console and power cable to a more open spot. If it is in the open, then you are fine.
To dissemble the console you will need a torx 8 screwdriver, some replacement thermal paste (articsilver 5 is the best) and a flat head (unless you buy an xclamp tool). Depending on if it a Slim or a Phat, you will either start with removing the faceplate on phats or the side grates on slims.

If this doesn't fix it, I would try and get your money back for it and try a different seller.

I have a slim so i will give this a go when I wake up and hopefully this will fix it. Pretty sure I have those tools in my house anyways so I’ll give it a go. If it doesn’t work after that then I give up lmao.

Oh one last thing, whos a reputable person for selling rghs if I have to buy another? R Risking Perfect I appreciate the help g

You should create another topic with your issues, but it's the exact same as C curtis262 , Open the console, give it a good clean, and if you have some paste laying around, be sure to replace the existing application.

I have had no end of phat consoles with similar overheating and eventually RROD issues, it's usually just dust if caught soon enough.

C curtis262 the best place to buy and sell RGHs is in the BST section at the bottom of the forums, You will need to hang around here a bit more and post before you can access them though.

I’ll make sure to follow the tutorial the other guy gave me but I’ll try post some more since if cleaning it doesn’t work then I’ll buy another one

Double check you didn't pinch or damage any wiring for the RGH when putting the console back together, When I did a one of my first slim RGHs I trapped the CPU_RST line and accidentally grounded it to the shell of the console...

I checked and nothing was trapped. All the wiring is fine
