Please read the entire post before attempting!

This very simple trick will allow you to respawn in the exact spot you died in (even if you killed yourself in the air!) and will hide you off the radar for a few seconds every time you do it, along with being able to repair any vehicle back to new (this includes armor, popped wheels, missing parts, etc. but it won't refill missiles/countermeasures/bombs). I'll post the steps below and then go in a bit more detailed to how to master this trick.

RESPAWN TRICK

You will need a friend in another targeting mode!

1. Start by holding down the PS button while you're in a lobby, and navigate to "Grand Theft Auto V"
2. Press right so it shows "Currently Playing With", "Other Sessions", and "Trophies", and then press right on "Other Sessions"
3. Find your friend who is in another targeting mode, and press their name
4. Press join on the following screen, but deny the in game alerts. Now when you double tap the PS button, it should take you back to that join screen
5. Next time you die, simply double tap the PS button and press join, denying the in game alerts

And that's it! Except it's a bit more complicated if you want to get the most out of it. Each time you press join, it takes about three seconds for the alerts to show up in game, which most of the time isn't enough to show up before you respawn. However, if you press join, deny the alerts, and then press join again, the alerts will pop up instantly. It's sort of like a timer. If you haven't pressed join in over a minute, it'll take a few seconds to bring up the alerts, but if you have pressed join recently, they pop up instantly. With knowing this, you should always prep the alerts if you know you're gonna die soon, that way when you do actually die, you can double tap PS button and press join and have the alerts show up instantly, allowing you to actually respawn trick properly.

Respawn tricking works everywhere, btw. It works when you get orbital cannoned, it works in deathmatches, any jobs for that matter, even in heists. It also hides you off the radar for as long as the wasted screen is up. If a player kills you, and you respawn trick and don't spam X, you can be off the radar for up to 10 seconds, the perfect amount of time for a sneaky revenge kill. You could literally stand in a Piracy Prevention/Stand Your Ground zone and keep respawn tricking each time someone kills you, bettering your rates at capturing. The video I made that will be shown at the bottom of this post shows super in-depth of respawn/repair tricking.

REPAIR TRICKING

You will need to know how to respawn trick, as shown how above!

1. Stand outside of the vehicle you want to repair (car, tank, heli, jet, whatever)
2. (Optional) Open the vehicle door so you can get in faster after respawn tricking
3. For cars, tanks, helis, etc. simply easy way out. If it's a jet or a vehicle with a long enter animation, have a friend kill you so your wasted screen is longer (you can still repair trick a jet by easy way out if your timing is nanosecond perfect)
4. As soon as you die, whether it's from EWO or a friend killing you, simply respawn trick and get in the vehicle. The only way it gets repaired is if you enter before the wasted screen goes away, which is your main goal here.

To better your success of repair tricking, press join right after you press "Kill Yourself" but before you actually see yourself die. This will spawn you pretty much the frame that you die, giving you more time of the wasted screen being up, letting you repair trick better. This repairs absolutely everything, as if you just called it from the mechanic, but it doesn't refill weapons that have limited ammo. It will even repair armor, so you can get shot in your Khanjali seven times by RPGs, repair trick it, and be good to go. You can repair cars that are literally on fire, moments away from blowing up. Sorry Johnny, but you're no longer the best mechanic in LS.

TROUBLESHOOTING

There are four problems you will ever run into, all which are solved very easily.

Pressing join only brings up an "Unable to connect to game session" alert
The solution to this is pretty easy. It simply means the person you're joining is no longer in that session, or they're doing something you can't join them during (them being in clouds joining a job, for example). All you do to fix this is just find someone else to join. cx

Pressing join doesn't bring up any alerts at all
It's pretty much the same problem as the first but in a different way. The person you're trying to join isn't in that session, or doing something you can't join them during, and is also solved by just trying something else. (Both of these problems are only common if you're joining people who have been in lobbies for 2-3+ hours, so it's not too common if you're going off someone who just hopped on.)

Pressing join put me in a black screen and I can't get out (#1)
Normally, if it's your first time respawn tricking in a session and you're joining someone, but get a black screen, it means you're joining someone who's in the same targeting mode as you. The solution to this requires you to still have someone who is in a different targeting mode, and all you want to do is press join on them, accept the first alert, and deny the targeting priority alert. This will get you off the black screen, but if it still doesn't, do it again (and even one more time) and it will get you off of it. It's very rare it takes more than one time though.

Pressing join put me in a black screen and I can't get out (#2)
The second type of black screen normally happens rarely and in laggy lobbies when you're respawn tricking. It could would perfectly for you the past 50 times you did it, but now when you did it, you got stuck on the black screen. The solution to this is the same as the previous solution, where you just want to press join again, accept the first alert, deny the second. Keep in mind that rarely it might just skip the first alert, so pay attention to which alert you're accepting/denying. You always want to accept the "Are you sure you want to leave the session?" alert, but always always always deny the "This job/activity is in a different targeting mode" alert. When respawn tricking, you can deny both, but to get out of the very rare black screen, make sure you accept/deny the right ones.

And that's it really, feel free to experiment as there's a lot more you can do with respawn tricking than I mentioned, some things which are really abusive so I didn't share here, or some things I simply haven't discovered yet. Either way, enjoy, and here's the visual tutorial since explaining in text can be a bit weird for a glitch like this.

Oh my.... Using join session alerts etc to “beat the wasted screen” to pull off what exactly? This is about getting 3-10 seconds OTR when respawning?? Or to cosmetically repair a vehicle without refilling the rockets?? I don’t understand why would one go thru this trouble sorry.... however I hope I encounter someone I am killing trying to do this, so I can sit back and laugh while they are respawning over and over again in the same spot while I’m in my tank :roflmao:

If you learn how to become effective with this in pvp, you can have a major edge over your opponents. Whether you're on a rooftop in a great position being able to constantly respawn up there, or in a Stromberg raining hell on Oppressors/Deluxos and then repairing between kills, or just getting a quick kill on someone who just killed you, it offers a huge advantage if you do pvp. After you kill yourself or get killed, people take those few seconds that you're spawning in to buy ammo, drop BST, call their bike, or simply just EWO, and you can get them before they can do any of that. It did slip my mind though that people here don't really pvp or things like that, more just money glitch for car collections and what not, so it does make sense you wouldn't see a use for it.

Having done this since 2014, you may think that you'll easily kill anyone you come across who does this, but you'd be incredibly far from wrong. Someone who's temporarily invisible and off the radar will win against someone who thinks that said person is currently dead, that's just obvious. Even outside of pvp, it has tons of uses.

If you're in a good position, but you got lots of cops on you, you can simply EWO and respawn trick. Takes literally a second, and now the cops are gone. You can use it to repair cars at car shows, or just for your leisurely driving. Why drive around with missing bumpers or broken windshields when you can spend two seconds and get it fixed. Trying to slam your car but put one too many bullets and now your car is smoking/tire popped? Repair it at the drop of a dime. Your Akula smoking but you don't want to wait a few minutes for a new one? Not a problem.

Heck, you'd get the best use out of this if you play jobs a lot, since it works in those too. No more spawning super far away from bad checkpoints because of a cheap death. Easily run capture packages without hesitation because no one can stop you.

There's tons upon tons of uses for this, you just have to be a little open minded.

(Oh, and this works in single player. No more hospital spawns.)

This will appeal to players of a different nature to the one who commented above! Honestly though well written and put together and interesting to know! I'll admit it's a hell of a lot to read for just a simple little trick but still I wonder if maybe there's a way to mix this up with other stuff either way, even if it was already posted i doubt it was In this much detail so fair play to you! Ignore the tw#ts bro

Oh is that the new forum rules now lol? If you get good responses you get duplicate posts? :roflmao: . After re-reading I must say the reparing a kenjal or stromborg will def be useful paired with Invisible OTR no cops for a griefing session.... but that’s about it. You have fun getting the “edge” on your opponents while you establish your building vantage point and pre-plan your deaths with join alerts  I’ll be waiting for your respawn.... in the exact same spot.... over and over lol

Ouch right in the feelings :grumpy:
Lmao. You know I’m just busting balls, I mean yes I still have my opinions on it, but if people are using this and benefiting then more power to ya. Def is a nice touch for missions/ jobs.... I just can’t grasp promoting it for griefing... don’t get me wrong, I understand the tactics and I am a very tactful and slick player... but I’m just thinking of typical gta play, just seems to frustrating to use a grief fun tool as their are a lot of components to backfire.

And I completely agree, however op clearly put in a lot of effort, so he at least deserves a "Well put together" or something like that as apposed to busting the poor fellas balls:wink:

That’s fair enough, it absolutely is a very well thought and put together post for sure.
Curious question- what happens to your PV if your blown up in it and instantly do this trick?

Sorry for reposting :c the one I posted in discovery had a really bad video tutorial I made which I put a lot more work into this time, and I never even touched things like black screens and how to fix them since that can be a product of doing this a lot. Decided to do an all out post and send it here where it will reach a bigger audience, since they'll likely have far more use with it than the few that do check discovery and the even fewer who can figure out the trick from my old messy guide.

It's a little thing I mentioned in my old discovery post, but what will happen is it'll repair for you and you can drive it around (even works if you're getting into a jet that blew up or something) and although you'll see it normally, everyone else in the lobby sees it as destroyed. It's kinda fun to mess around with, like flying a Lazer around that has no wings yet you can still have full control, and an easy way to pull it off is have your friend in the same org as you, he puts a sticky bomb on the vehicle, turns on friendly fire and kills you and then turns it off, and blows it up after you get in the vehicle. It can make for some interesting results cx

i personally will never use this, but in a forums community, its important to give credit to those that are putting in time, as they are the ones that continue to put in time and help the glitch/exploit discovery community. There are far to many people on here trying to clown on others or bring them down because "they dont see a point" or the glitch doesnt work for them. Come on ppl, these are the people that continue to find us money glitch after money glitch, gc2f glitches, god mode glitches, all of that. MAD PROPS to the OP PASTEL as thats one helluva thread, very informative, and can be useful to the right groups of players in GTA, thanks again for your very informative post and the time/effort!!!

Aww thank you!
I honestly think my problem with this thread is I made it way too detailed when it's really super simple to do and takes like 20 seconds to even get it ready and then a few seconds every few minutes to then put into play, but all the writing and stuff makes it seem like it's a hugely complicated thing. It's just a really helpful thing to have regardless of the situation, and it's so easy to do too, like it literally just takes a few seconds and that's it. But I think with smaller tricks like these, I may have to shorten them since reading "Easy simple trick" followed by ten paragraphs probably isn't the best hook. cx
