Im not sure if this is the right place for this but i figured it has to do with the 360 so i put it here.

I have two 120gb 360 HDD's and i want to re-format them to be used as external HDD's for my pc so i was wondering:

    1. What format does a HDD need to be to be used as an external HDD?

    2. How would i go about changing the format of the HDD to the necessary format?

    3. Can i use an M$ transfer cable or do i need some other sort of hardware?

Thats not a very smart thing to do ( idont even know if you can)

You could just sell them and buy larger Hard drives, it would be easier too

Yes you can hook the hard drive up to your computer I do it all the time for game saves. But I recommend using xplorer360 to create a back up of the drive just incase. Use a FAT or NTSC format and it should work fine either way. the xbox 360 hard drive is a sata harddrive and requires a sata and power cable. Like the previous poster said you are better off selling them and getting a better hard drive on newegg.com.

yeah but thats my problem, selling them. ive been trting to sell these hdds for like a year and a half now. (no one wants to buy them because they arent in the plastic enclosure anymore even though the still conect to the 360 and work fine , its just a cosmetic thing.) thats why i figured i would just reformat them and use them as external hdds.

Hook them up to your computer, right click on "My Computer" and hit manage then goto disk management and click on one of the disks and hit "Internalize Disk" after that you can right click on it and hit format (I would do a full format).
