- Each day, you can receive three charges (one per character)
- Whether you place these on three runes or one rune is up to you.
- I chose to charge one rune to full before the 7 days.
- This means only players who do this could be the first to the unique calcified shard... hmm exotic.
Answered Questions:
- Can we get rewards for fireteam completions? NO, the rewards are similar to the Sunburner's chain. This means you must personally have a charged rune to receive rewards.
- Are the rewards 'one-time only', meaning next week we will get nothing?
Extra Info
For those of you who don't know already, the Agonarch rune is a rune where players can charge by killing a few waves of taken, aka blight spawns in the Dreadnaught (floating bubble with ring below).
Additionally, you can charge beyond daily limits!

First off, we can be the first non-tester to verify rewards (possibly the first post-launch!). I believe Playboy gamer X has a video posted online, but this was pre-launch (Q3: was it?). A: maybe, he posted this as a VIP tester on 15 SEP. But what time??
In less than three hours from now, I will complete my first agonarch rune (yes, before the seven day mark... heck, I could have done this days ago. And so can you!)
I will be taking players through my method to charge an Agonarch runes early, and cash it in! In hopes that I get more moldering shards (the tester who finished got one for one rune). This is way faster than repeating 15*20 'infinite chests' for the moldering shards.
Your chance to be the first!! Be in my fireteam in two hours. XBONE

I will share with you how to do this before I tell anyone else! We will also be the first to complete one post-launch, non-tester status. Do you value being first? just curious? want a unique calcified fragment? free Moldering shard? -these were the rewards from the tester, days and days ago. Are the rewards even the same? I'm going to find out, Guardians.

Bungie has two options with the current system.
1) all moldering shards give good items - people spamming for the checkpoint?
2) all moldering shards give you another drop from the loot pool - balanced and rewarding.
Here is why moldering shards were an amazing idea:
you roll on a die, a two. this two means you get boots, but since you already have a pair, the game initiates another roll -- you could get boots or ... Moldering Shards! So you rolled moldering shards, meaning you don't get duplicate boots. When you get 20 of these (similar to losing in Iron Banner), you will be compensated and initiate a FREE roll for loot! What happens though, is this:
Oryx, you roll for loot with an extra drop.A basic drop has gear, shards, etc.
-without shards: you have 2 rolls for loot - 40% + 40% for shards
-with shards: you have 3 rolls for loot - 40% + 40% + 40% | yet you expect not to receive shards. what if your previous roll was the shards, and the shards got you the gear piece?! I like this system way more than ascendant material. Bungie knows best.
With increased drops comes a greater chance to receive ANY item, specifically the moldering shards, which are probably at a hard 40% right now.
You can always ask Bungie why they included "useless" material as a raid element, but I'm expecting the obvious:
-Prevent full raid set in a single raid - run
-Encourage full raids | not just checkpoints
-Give unlucky players a free roll for new items!
All hail the king.
