I have a galaxy s6 SM-G920V. I wanted to know if there is anyway of downgrading from 6.0.1 to 5.0.2 so I can root (ik this is unlikely but it never hurts to ask, right?)

You will not be able to downgrade firmwares. You are free to downgrade kernels which may or may not aid you in this situation. Plus by just downgrading the kernel you will more than likely encounter various problems.

As I've told you before root is not possible on this device. Downgrading the Android OS version doesn't make a difference as the bootloader is still locked.

So, verizon are still going the "apple way" with their phones?

They got root for the AT&T S7. I'd expect a method for this device to pop up soon
