So i have a gears of war disk that is beyond scratched and playable. And i was wondering if there was a way for me to download the game, put it on my hdd, then run it from my hdd using the scratched up disk i have to get it to run. Kind of like renting the game, then copying it to the hdd and using your broke disk to start it.

Is there such a method?

If the disc still works for a split second when reading, you would have to install it from another disc first, but it will work. If not, you can flash your drive and play a backup version of it from a burned disc.
