Using BruteForce Save Data 4.7.4 and Gibbed 1.0.42.

Every time I try to open a decrypted save in Gibbed, I receive an error message. This happens with saves from my own PS3 (tried saves created on PS3, and cross-saved from PS4) and with any saves found online (such as DOMIN8's).

The decryption process goes fine in BruteForce, and my games.conf is updated. The issue is when I actually attempt to edit the save. If I don't apply the SHA1 patch under the cheats sections in BruteForce, I'm met with the invalid SHA1 hash error.
If I do, I am then met with this error:

---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
An exception was thrown (press Ctrl+C to copy):

System.IO.EndOfStreamException: Attempted to read past the end of the stream.

at Gibbed.IO.SmallWorkBuffer.ReadBytes(Stream stream, Int32 count)

at Gibbed.Borderlands2.FileFormats.SaveFile.Deserialize(Stream input, Platform platform, DeserializeSettings settings)

at Gibbed.Borderlands2.SaveEdit.ShellViewModel.<>c__DisplayClass62_0.<ReadSave>b__0()

at Caliburn.Micro.Contrib.Results.DelegateResult.Execute(ActionExecutionContext context)
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Yes, I am being sure to open the save as a PS3 file,

All my searches online have been telling me to upload to the latest edition of Gibbed, but that's what I'm using.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just copy and paste everything to a new save. If a save was gibbed before 1.0.42 the saves seemed to have had an issue. When they was doing hotfixes in the game without telling anyone

Thing is, I have this same error with completely new saves that haven't been touched by Gibbed at all. This error message popped up trying to open a fresh PS3 save created 3 minutes prior as well.

Do you have cheats set to auto apply? I would remove all cheats for borderlands games for bruteforce and try it agian.

I'm not seeing any option within BruteForce that says auto-apply cheats. There IS the manual option, and I need to apply the SHA1 update to get past its related hash error in Gibbed, but I'm still met the longer error.

updating the SHA1 will break the save 100% of the time not fix it. Are you opening your save as a ps3 save in gibbed (bottom right of open)? Is the save decrypted?

Yes, and yes. But if I do not use the SHA1 update cheat, I still get the SHA1 hash error.

I've had this issue intermittently on some saves. You sound like you're taking the correct steps. I would get a fresh save from the PS3.
Also I recall there is something that you have to do with Bruteforce initially to grab the system id. When you upgrade you don't have to do it again.
As well there's Microsoft things that you have to install to get it to work. It's all in the instructions in the zip file for gibbed. Make sure to download the largest zip so you get everything.
Good luck.

Everything I've needed to install is already installed and up to date. I've tried with a fresh save from my PS3 and I still get the invalid SHA1 error when trying to open the decrypted save file. According to Rick (Gibbed), that's a legitimate check to see if the save is actually decrypted. So, Bruteforce is saying it's decrypted, but the Gibbed editor is saying it's not.

I don't know if this is an issue with Bruteforce, or perhaps the fact I have none of the DLC on the PS3 version of the game. (Borrowing a friend's copy. I didn't start playing Borderlands until towards the end of June, when the Handsome Collection was free for PS Plus users on PS4)

I've tried everything, and I have Xcier attempting to help me. I've edited some properly decrypted files from DOMIN8's save collection, and he can get them working on his end, but when I replicate his exact process, my PS3 says the files are corrupted.
I really don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

I'm hoping he or somebody else could simply take my PSN login onto their PS3, get the saves working on their end, and we can coordinate to transfer them over cross-save 1 by 1 from their PS3 to my PS4.

If you think you can help with this, please start a conversation with me here and I'll send you my Discord info

I've had more problems this time around than I used to years ago. One is that Bruteforce doesn't seem to update to the newest files. It does its own backups and I'm not certain if it's pulling files of the hard drive as opposed to the flash drive. What I do now is drag the files out of windows explorer into the open Bruteforce. The dates that appeared were older than my most recent save. I suspect that could be the cause of your repeated errors. Before i started doing this every time I closed Bruteforce I got a warning about decrypted files.

You can just send your files for the character. You shouldn't give out your login information. I doubt it has to do with the cross save.

Tried that. Regardless of what I do, my decrypted fresh files (that I brought from the PS3) still give me errors in Gibbed and won't open.
I sent you a link to my edited DOMIN8 saves in DMs. I just need them made usable (as in, with their PARAM.SFO and PARAM.PFD so my PS3 will actually load them).
