Discussion problem with data transfer kit

Ok so I am using the cord from microsoft, and I used to be able to connect it to my computer fine using both xport and xplorer. Then I started to have some problems with my computer. I cant find it now but it was somethig about automatic data termination, or splooger settings. My internet explorer and firefox automatically stop responding as soon as soon as they are opened. Along with this neither of the programs can now find my harddrive. I've tried restoring my computer but nothing seems to work. I would appreciate any help possible.
P.S im using vista

If your harddrive doesn't work with your 360 then you bricked it

no it works fine with my 360 its just connecting it to my computer that im having a problem with

You probably should re-install vista- My suggestion just back up any pictures, videos etc... I think that would be something safe to do/try and see if it would help

my computer came with vista on it. Wouldnt I have to install XP or something to get rid of it.

I had a similar problem with vista.

Turn of user account control, check for windows updates and install any that are available.

Restart your pc.

It should detect it. If it doesn't I would seriously suggest downgrading to XP. I might well do... vista is just WAAAAAAAAY too buggy for me.
