Greetings
Signed up seeing you guys are all about modding and such, and I have a few questions.

I am planning to purchase the x360 purely for emulation, play NES games etc. Sounded like a fantastic idea at first.

But what are the requirements?
Possible updated tutorials for this?
Works on what types of x360s, slim etc?
Any disadvantages such as input lag, delay?
Most importantly, is it a long process?

I have some past modding knowledge and a PC
ready.

Thanks, appreciate any type of comment.

To answer your questions:
  1. You'd need a RGHed console.
  2. It'll depend on what console you have, but it works on every single motherboard.
    Phat - Click Here
    Slim Trinity - Click Here
    Slim Corona - Click Here
  3. It'll work on every released motherboard except the Winchester.
The Winchester is the Xbox 360E with a MFR Date of 2014.08 or later (I believe).
So as long as you get a Phat or regular Slim, you'll be good to go.
  4. It really depends on how well they developed the emulator.
I'm sure some will be better than others, but the most popular ones should be near perfect.
    NES/N64/Sega/etc...
  5. It depends on if you're good at soldering.
If you are, it'll be no more than an hour to solder everything together and get it running.
If you aren't, you can just buy a RGH console from the B/S/T section here:

Don't limit yourself to only using it for emulation. You can use it for playing back-ups and modding xbox 360 and OG xbox games as well! Noobert's post above though best answers your questions on emulation.

In order to get the most out of a modded xbox 360, watch all of the videos in this playlist in order once you have the console in your possession with the proper hardware installed. The videos are easy-to-follow tutorials which will teach you how to set up all of the proper software and homebrew that will you ever need:
