Ok first I am going to say I have no idea how to do it myself but I know if your account was offline originally and you go on reach for the first time online you can get a MAX of 26,000 Cr.
Then if you go offline after that you can come back with a max of 1000 new Cr. So if you continue going on and offline you can keep modding 1000 Cr at a time. Very annoying yes but it seems possible + bungie cant see what you played while you were offline.
Just my nooby idea.

Tell me; how would an 8 minute match of gruntpocalypse, be faster than the 2 minutes it would take to mod 1000 Cr?

The horizon tool is great, because after your commendation earnings slow down, you earn a lot less. however, modding 1000 Cr will always stay the same, until you hit the cap of course. these credit 'farming' strategies, are all temporary.
