I recieved a imac g3 for free however it wont start the owner said the hardrive wasnt fried he already checked it so i am guessing i am going to have to boot it from a cd like a os 9 or 9.2 the only issue it that they do not make these cds anymore. How can i fix this. Please Hurry he offered to buy it back from me if i get it working. It displays some sort of mac frowny and a "?" on a folder and it blinks repeatedly. What do i do when i put a linux boot disk in it spits it out.

Isn't that something to do with the OS isn't installed properly. We had that once with one of our Macs but I can't remember what it is

check your box for disks... you might have to install the OSX youself.

Yeah, you'll need to use one of the many gray disks that came with the box. Manually reinstall the OS and you should be running fine
