Unsolved Playing backups

So I was told a while back that it's very unlikely to get banned for playing your own game backup, so I was wondering if I could rent games from certain websites for a week or month back it up onto my PS3 and send the game away with no issues and it would be the same case as playing my own games and that I could go online without getting banned.
Or do games have certain IDs so when it's played on multiple consoles it's detected by SONY.

I don't think there's any truth to that, but yes, you can do it without them knowing. Whenever BlockBuster was still a thing, I used to rent games from there and back them up. Just use MultiMan and when the game is in your PS3, click triangle and there should be a copy option. Once it's all copied over you can just send the game back.

Lol no trouble bud, I backup all my games put disc in go into multiman and copy takes about twenty minutes .just make sure to go to options when done and enable internal bd mirror ..

but to answer the first part of that. it makes no difference whether you buy it or steal it. a game running on cfw will get you banned eventually
