Most of us know the OUYA by now, which is an Android based game console. The OUYA got it's break, after starting a Kickstarter campaign. Asking people to fund their project which was a success, earning $8,596,474 in total from Kickstarter.
They didn't stop there, they continued to raise money and by 2013 they raised over $15 million. From investors like Kleiner Perkins, Mayfield Fund, Occam Partners, Shasta Ventures and NVIDIA.
But, the OUYA in recent months hasn't been doing so well and has been left behind and forgotten about in the gaming community. People saying that the hardware is outdated and a majority of the games on the console, had FPS issues.
The CEO of OUYA Inc, Julie Uhrman wrote an email to investors and advisors stressing that they need to find a buyer fast, or the OUYA could be no more. The company haven't been able to pay debt or other payments and now are facing loosing the company. Since it is almost the end of April, the fate of OUYA is still unknown.
