Notes:
  • Never share your IP with someone you do not trust.
  • You should have port 27000 forwarded (Let me know if it works without).
  • Allow Hiyper Chat through your windows firewall.
  • Chrome detects it as a malware. It is because of the way it transfers data. Just look at the Virus Total.
  • This program is being released for beta testing. Please report any bugs, suggestions and problems at bug report link.

The IP it gives you when you launch is not always right. A sure fire way to find it.

Control Panel -> Network And Sharing -> Change Adapter Settings -> (Your Internet Connection) -> Details -> Ipv4 address

Looks interesting. I will check it out once I am back on my PC. Good release, even though I have no use for it.

You never know when you would rather have a bunch of random letters going over the waves then actual text.

Like when you are on a public network and you are suspicious of someone sniffing the network, and you have to send a password or something. I plan to add a file transfer feature in the future.

like your body.

I thought about that. But then the receiver would have to set the listen port too. Otherwise you could pick up unwanted strings off other ports.

Are you sending Datagrams or making connection? Typically you want your program to send a custom 'Helo' message upon connection. That way your program know weather or not to connect to it. Like you said, you don't want other connections connecting in on that port, so do not accept the connection unless the message says something like 'Helo123USuck'.

Although most other programs trying to make a connection have their own Helo and response message, so its unlikely that you will find that to be a problem.

Making a connection. I do plan to add a port and authentication.

What algorithm are you using to encrypt the messages?

Neither MD5 or DES are secure algorithms. I suggest you look into a more secure algorithm such as AES or RSA. Please see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3929325/why-is-aes-more-secure-than-des for more information.
I know what encryption are safe and not. I actually understand the math behind the different algorithms, not just an understanding from a stackoverflow thread. If you read the planned features I said I plan to add asymmetric encryption. I can crack some block cipher md5s just by looking at them. To random people and skiddies this will just look like a wall of text.
