About 1 week ago I got hold of an ASUS p5n-e SLI motherboard. the board itself is about 9-10 years old but seems to still work. I was initially planning on doing a kind of old school build and this board would be ideal (It's not cheap either, still going for £50+ on eBay) iv'e currently got it paired up with an intel Q6600 and Corsair XMS2 RAM but i'm having issue with getting any video output. Here's how it goes:
>Turn on PSU
>Green LED lights up on the Mobo
> Turn on the mobo (jumping the power switch)
>Fans spin
>No VGA on screen

I've looked around and tried all the normal solutions such as testing RAM, testing PSU, checked the socket, Reset CMOS, Etc. after everything it's still not working.
but alas, I came across something on an old forum post about some motherboards having a BIOS preset where the display output is set on PCI instead of PCI-E. Since the board is so old there's no recent posts (even within the last 6 years).

So my main question: is it worth buying a PCI graphics card to try and fix the mobo, or is it not worth it?
