Has anyone here ever made an oil cooled computer like the Puget systems one?

I've seen these. Not in person but they seem pretty cool if you can do it.

they look cool, and in theory would work well. i have never heard about one being used as a permanent computer though.

oil is non-conductive and a great heat conductor, it helps cool the computer evenly and keeps it completely silent.

That is probably one of the strangest ideas for a computer cooling system I have seem and I would totally try that is I wasnt certain I would make a mess I wouldnt want to clean up.

it would involve draining it and taking everything out but it shouldn't be too hard, and you can get the oil cheaper here.

hmm, maybe if it wasnt so ugly. like, if you could just seal off a normal computer case then put the stuff in there, that would be amazing. (with a window and LED's of course)

I do want to do this but it would make using a computer so much more dangerous. I open mine up constantly and it moves quite a bit. I just wouldn't want to do this if it was my main pc.

I've heard of this long ago, and all I can think of it is that it is very impractical for average use. After awhile I am sure the liquid will become conductive and not only kill it, but also give you quite a nasty mess to combat.

oil becomes conductive when conductive elements are dissolved in sufficient a quantity, but that would take a long time and you would want to change the oil before then.

50$ can get you a nice new game or a year subscription to xbox live..

Not worth it IMO.. Theres nothing wrong with a little noise compared to a yearly fee. Also I heard the oil causes residue on the motherboard so turning back could be a problem.
