The RTX 2080 ti has a whopping 13,447,680 MegaFlops & 10,068,480 on the RTX 2080

To Calculate Flops you take Frequency * Shading Units (Cuda Cores) * 2

Raw Compute Power (Not gaming performing)

2080 ti vs 1080ti = 18.5% faster than the 1080ti
1080 TI vs 2080 = 12% faster than the 2080
2080 vs 1080 = 13% faster than the 1080

Math
6723840/5669888 = 1.185885858768286
5669888/5034240= 1.12626494
5034240/4436480= 1.13473745
3231360

Memory Bandwidth is ~ 30% faster

Based on these I could make rough speculations and estimate the the 2070 will be roughly 2176 Cuda cores which will make it approx a 13% upgrade over the 1070 depending on clock speeds but will probably overclock well compared to the other cards making it probably better value per dollar than the 2080.

IMO not worth upgrading.

*Only few games have retracing, probably big royalties for this technology.
*High price.
*Minor performance gains.
*Fresh technology.
*I doubt we see any cool retracing technology games any sooner.
*Don't forget about consoles, they don't have this technology. Since games are mostly designed with consoles in mind.

Remember physX - total failure.

Here is the problem, neither of you know what the card can do. Also, depending on the situation, upgrading might be a great option. What is the consumer upgrading from? Possibly the 9 series cards, junk AMD cards, or possibly starting a fresh build. Maybe not the best buy for someone in my shoes running dual 1080 ti's, but coming from a 970, this would be a great upgrade option in many scenarios. No one has been able to test these cards or anything, so this thread is worthless. Just the change in ram removes the ability to compare last gen cards to the RTX series, so lets wait for results.
