Okay, so we're currently working on a new game, title has not been decided yet, but we finally have what we believe is enough for now, we're only releasing screenshots over the next couple of weeks, they'll be added to the website over time, as we continue to perfect everything. Just thought I'd show you guys what we have so far, well, what screenshots are necessary to the game. We hope to start a Kickstarter project soon, after we have made more progress, and then we hope to upload a public beta through Steam and our own online store, which will be coming soon.
I plan on talking to the rest of the NmR Studios team on releasing a special Se7ensins only demo of the game within the next few weeks.

Anyway, here's the screenshots:

The Following Features have been added so far:
Temperature System added 28/7/15 - Thanks to Hiyper
Weather System
Weapon System
Enemy and Friendly AI
Thirst, Hunger and Health Meters
Food and Water System
Day and Night Cycle
75% of Terrain Completed
Correct Sounds, Lighting, and other fixes

The Following Features will be added over time:
Inventory
Crafting
Clothing
Fellow Survivors (Friendly and Non-Friendly)
Survivor Camps
Animals
Animal/Human Trapping System
Hunger, Thirst and Health Meters changed to Bars

We have also just updated our concept and thought we'd show everyone what we have so far, not everything there may be final, and we're continuously adding to it daily.

GAME CONCEPT


Story Ideas:



Superflu decimates Earth's population, killing 99.9% of humanity. (Based on Stephen King's “The Stand”)The Player was a recluse, choosing to live alone and cut-off from the modern world. Realizing something is going on, The Player must do what it takes to survive this harsh new world, while piecing together what happened.

Based in rural Victoria, Australia, (Current population ~23,840,000 as of July 23rd 2015, leaving ~23,840 post Superflu)The Player has the ability to use natural resources (trees, animals, etc., etc.) and 'found' items (tools, canned food, etc., etc.)to survive. There would be the risk of disease and sickness, so The Player would need to consider shelter options, as houses and cars would likely contain the remains of the victims. To counteract the sickness and disease, The Player would need to find medicine from hospitals, chemists, etc., etc.

The Player would encounter other survivors along the way, and would be unsure of they're intentions, as some would be simply looking to survive, where as others would have gone crazy. As The Player progresses through the game, it becomes clear that there is a building war between two factions, one who just want to survive, and the other out for control. The Player is able to choose which faction they join, thus affecting the outcome of the game. There would be multiple 'endings' based on The Player's behavior during the game. (i.e. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s multiple endings, based on Player's money, Player's joined factions, Player's In-Game choices regarding certain key events)

Some endings would cause the game to become open-ended, where others would cause The Player's death, thus ending the game.


Game Elements:



  • F.P.S. Survival.

  • Crafting system. (Ability to craft shelters, tools, food etc., etc.)

  • Gather able resources.

  • A.I. Factions.

  • Upgradeable inventory. (Larger backpacks, etc., etc.)

  • Game save/load.

  • Map. (Day-Z style)

  • Hunger, thirst, energy and sickness.

  • Day/Night/Weather/Time cycles.

  • Multiple weapons, including melee and ranged weapons (i.e. Knives, machetes, rifles, (cross)bows, etc., etc.)

  • Customizable player clothes and armor.

  • Multiple 'levels' (Traveling between different regions, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Style)

  • Transport (Bicycles, motorbikes, A.T.V.'s etc., etc.)

  • Barter system

To be honest, everything looks like free assets and looks incredibly bland.

The assets are definitely are not free. They're all quite expensive. We're adding new screenshots today of some new updates. Thank you for you criticism! It will help us improve the game and we'll try to make it look less bland! :smile:

The only model you should have paid for would be the soldier. You can find better weapon models for free. Besides that, I'd need a video to see how the whole project blends together.

If your assets were quite expensive, you most likely wasted your money. There are tons of better high quality assets out there. Maybe the kickstarter could help pay for some of the assets if it gets funded.

That's what most of the donations go on. And yes, we are hoping it gets funded on Kickstarter so that we may get better assets. It'll still be a while until it is ready for Kickstarter.

This looks more like a prototyping game. Not sure what this game is. Looks like zombie or some kind of sandbox. I know a good modeler that would charge Almost a grand for a 25k poly character model, rigged, textured, UE4 materials ready as well.

Are you buying models from turbo squid or are you paying an artist? If they are charging a lot, you are being scammed. Good luck on this project, stay dedicated and focused. Also a unique story of the game is what will bring this game to life.

Sorry for such a late response. I've been busy with Uni, and haven't been able to spend much time on the computer. New screenshots will be added soon, we've updated our Day/Night Cycle, the sky looks heaps better now and are working on populating our maps more with added bushes, trees, vegetation, etc. We hope to add in Safe Houses around the map soon. Safe Houses will have food, water, ammo, weapons, friendly and enemy NPCs.

What are some of your pivotal USPs? (Unique Selling Points) What's going to be that one feature that will make every one want it and it not just be another zombie game? Also, is your team using Unity?

We're adding a complete storyline to it, questing, looting, etc. We hope to give it Fallout-like gameplay with a lot of our own features into it.
Yes, we are using Unity 5.
