Discussion New UI update getting stuck?

Okay so here's how to fix the stuck update.

Ok so here is the play-by-play from my third attempt.

-Hard reset/power cycle.

-Back to old UI without Live connection (is connected to internet as accounted for by network trouble shooter)

-Attempt to launch any game on HD as it will launch the update prompt (but may take a minute for the prompt to pop up so just keep trying to launch a game)

-Waits for update prompt, takes it

-Update downloads/installs

-Console does required reboot

-Powers up, update begins being applied

-At about 50% it does that quasi-reboot (connection to TV lost, power light dims... reboots)

-Progress to applying update resumes but at about 40%... it gets to about 60% where it usually stops... does another quasi-reboot, and then continues

-Applying update is replaced with preparing console

-Finished and with new UI.

IDK what I did different this time, but when I did the hard reset, I let it stand powered down for five minutes.

Just got my update notification while playing destiny. Told me update was available, but kept telling me it failed... It wouldn't even let me check my network connection, it would just go back to the "The update failed" screen... So I powered off the console like normal, unplugged it for 5 seconds plugged it in and it currently downloading the update. Hopefully the beta isn't as bad as everyone says...

I had to literally do a factory reset. Was not happy.

Aw man don't tell me that, I'm so close to finishing the "preparing console"... Hope there's no problems.

I had to do a couple of reboots now it updated fine and its much faster
