Just got it from BestBuy today from my parents as an early graduation present.

HP Pavilion dv2700 Notebook PC
Processor: AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 TL-62 (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
Memory: 4030MB RAM
Chip type: GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M

Is this a decent laptop?
And should it be able to run most games out?
Maybe even Crysis?

Not too sure about Crysis, but should be able to run about every other game.

Real nice for a laptop.

To see exactly what games your laptop can and cannot play (and why) you should use this site: Can You RUN It?

It works very well.

Just choose the game and it will analyze the computer you are using and tell you if it meets the minimum system requirement and if it meets the recommended system requirements.

I couldn't remember that site.

And my GFX card is the only thing that's holding me back.
It's only a 64MB gfx card.
Bleh. Anyway to upgrade a laptops GFX card?

Spent 900 bucks on this thing.
Called "The Gamin Laptop"

Stilll WAYYYYY better than my desktop lol.
1.6GHz non duo core
onboard 32MB no extras GFX card
and 1 gig of ram

This is what dxdiag said:
---------------
Display Devices
---------------
Card name: NVIDIA MCP67M
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0531&SUBSYS_30D6103C&REV_A2
Display Memory: 1068 MB
Dedicated Memory: 61 MB
Shared Memory: 1007 MB
Current Mode: 1280 x 800 (32 bit) (60Hz)
Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor
Driver Name: nvd3dum,nvd3dumx.dll,nvwgf2um, nvwgf2umx
Driver Version: 7.15.0011.5671 (English)
DDI Version: 10

I mean what's the difference between the types of memory?
No way of somehow getting more MB out of it to run better games?

Like it passes all of the checks on crysis except the Video Ram.
Everything else is good.

I'm not for certain but I believe laptops use shared memory for graphics, so you have to change the settings if possible. The bios setup is a good place to start.

It's gotta be something.
They're not gonna throw a nice processor, large amount of ram, and a ****ty GFX card.
I'll do some hunting I guess.

I changed it to 128MB but that was as high as it goes.
I don't get it because it says I have a total of 1851MB for Approx. Total Memory.

If you are getting a laptop, you shouldn't be expecting it to be for gaming.

The reason why they don't provide dedicated graphics memory is because laptops have always been generalized for the traveling person, not for the avid gamer that happens to travel.
