So here is the situation:
- I have 2 xboxs, 1 retail and 1 jtag
- Whenever i want to system link, i plug one into the wall, then throw an ethernet cable out my window then downstairs and connect it to the router.

I want to be able to set something up where i can create multiple ethernet outlets off of one ethernet port and still have system link work.

So the question is which would work better, if at all?

You could buy one of the wall outlet adapters that transfer the connection through your power outlet.

If the question is between a switch or a hub, either will do what you want. But if you plan on doing file transfers across this network, use a switch.
