I think my computer may have been hacked. I'm not 100% sure this is what happened but let me describe the details.

Alright, one day I logged on AIM and my friend's screen name was on it with the password remembered. Well I found this odd because he's never logged into his AIM on my computer.

On top of this, every time I would scroll through webpages like Se7ensins, the scroll bar would move back to the top and kept repeatingly doing this randomly.

Also, some of my keys on my keyboard are locked. For example 6, b, and n don't type along with a list of others for some reason.

Well I scanned my computer using Norton Internet Security and all it found was a tracking cookie that I fixed so I don't think it's a virus but there's definitely something weird going on and I need to get to the bottom of it and figure it out so I can keep posting on Se7ens.

Right now I'm using a friends computer but I would really like to use my own again so any help is greatly appreaciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I know, I know. System restore is not everything, but have you tried it?

I'll give System Restore a try but get this, now it's even worse.

Whe I log on, it shows a black screen and a Microsoft error comes up saying "wuauclt.exe has stopped working" so I have to go into safe mode just to see any icons.

Someone please help me out here! :cursing:

    wuauclt.exe is Windows Update.
Boot from your Windows XP cd and press R for repair when prompted to.
This works better than System Restore since you don't lose any data
    Your welcome

System restore and then tell us what happened.

If you can manage, try installing [Click here to view the link] and see if that manages to pick it up.

I did system restore. now my icons are back up and I can surf the web, although some of my keys are still locked. I need to fix this right away because it's stopping me from posting on the best website ever lol.

Using a restore can sometimes **** with your registry. Checked it recently?
