the link is dead.... i used this to help me but i get an error when i try and do other things to the map....

    Materials:
    *Hex Workshop

    *PC
    *Halo 2 map

    Warnings/Important Reminders:
You will be banned from Halo 2 matchmaking if you decide to mod online.
    Instructions:
    1) Aquire a version of Hex Workshop
    2) Open up the Halo 2 map you want to hex edit
    3) Press CTRL+F and search for the thing you want to hex
-make sure it is an ASCII string
    4) When Hex Worshop begins to search, it will bring up results in the bottom right-hand corner
    5) Scroll all the way to the bottom of the list of results and slowly make your way upwarsd until you see something like "Hold ... to pick up SMG" (or whatever weapon/vehicle you are hex editing)
    6) Change anything in that text string, but make it the exact same amount of characters (including spaces).

    Example:

Old: Hold ... to pick up SMG
New: Hold ... to aquire AMG_

In that example, the amount of characters was 1 less than what we started with. To remedy this problem by placing a space after the string. Indicated by the "_".

    7) After we change the name of this weapon, we save the map. When it asks to save a backup, press "yes".
    8) Continue steps 1-7 for each weapon/vehicle, but make sure not to edit the strings that look like this "warthog.enter.ride.turret" as these are the actual commands for the game.
