Discussion Need help with my Skyrim disk

Alright so i have a laser burnt skyrim disk that used to not read at all. I tryed the toothpaste trick and i get something a little better. i load the skyrim disk, click play now, then it boots up ok and it loads but then while i still have a black screen from loading it says Disconnected from Xbox live then boots me back to the dashboard. Can somebody pleaseeeee help me I just want a working copy of skyrim.

(by the way i know i can install a friends disk to the hard drive. i just want somebody to explain whats happening and how i can get my disk to work.)

I took the game to my local gamestop and they fixed it
