ok so about a month or 2 ago i used a windows upgrade key from home premium to ultimate and its come up just now that this is not a genuine copy of windows and i was wandering how i could go back to home premium.

Have you restored you computer or deleted any files recently?

Just buy a Windows 8 Product key from here. They're cheap considering it's new.

Try restoring your computer to a date closest to after you installed it. Might help.
