No but its better than the 6850. I don't look at watt consumption. I look at specs because that is what you asked for. In terms of speed and performance the 550 would be better.

You're wrong, although you could be thinking of the 560 Ti, but I doubt it since you mentioned 550 multiple times.

As for your question, if you wanna save $20 or so you can get a GTX 460 which offers relatively similar performance. Or you can spend an extra $20 and get an HD 6870 which offers quite a bit more performance, and only increases power consumption by a little.
