So this is one of the first computer builds I career up with. Curious on what you guys suggest. Looking to spend around $1500 for a complete build.

Looks pretty good, some things I would recommend.

- Better/more RAM. You have a $1500 build here, I wouldn't go cheap on the RAM and definitely recommend going from 8 to 16 GB. 16 is becoming the normal amount.

- Your GPU is a bit on the older side/compares to a GTX 970, I would upgrade this to a better card since those are getting a bit old.

- Power Supply is bronze certified, always go Gold in my book. (Not a huge thing but, you are spending $1500!)

Gold/plat/diamond power supplies aren't needed. I've been using the same bronze power supply for 6 years. That's including 4 years where I was running 2 gpus.

Instead of those 2 monitors... go with this one. It's $50 more but it's 100x better:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824022486

For the GPU look on Craigslist. I was able to buy my 1080 for $420 and a 1080 ti for $700.

You can save money by getting the S340 case instead, it's the one I'm using:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...146189&cm_re=nzxt_s340-_-11-146-189-_-Product

With the money you're saving by getting that case you can get this ram:

I don't know much about motherboards, but I know that you don't need one that's $230

Any other suggestions?
Or what would you recommend for a photoshop, photo/video editing rig?

This is somewhat True but also false.

Like a Bronze Seasonic is far superior to a Gold Rated Raidmax Alahu Ackbar as Raidmax will go and be like LOOK WE BARELY PASSED GOLD EFFICIENCY WHEN WE MADE THE ROOM WE TESTED IT IN NEGATIVE 578c and efficiency is not the only factor either.

Where Like Seasonic is like hmm lets not use Capacitors that explode even in their bronze lines.

But if you buy like a Chinese "Bronze" good luck having it last a year under 30% load even.

Amazing Panel but its price point between the 1440p 144hz AHVA panels & the 1440p 144hz VA QD panels makes it kinda a rough spot. I would spend more on a QD or less on an AHVA panel.

What about a 1440p 144hz 10 Bit AHVA(IPS) panel? For only $300

https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=31004

Its 8 bit + FRC (marketed as 10) and its 350nits HDR so its not the same as an HDR1000 spec monitor but good luck finding a true HDR10 with over 600 Nits monitor for even twice this price at 1440p 144hz

Buying Cards from Craigslist usually means you bought a card that was used for mining.

Holy f*** nearly everything is out dated. Skylake CPU in 2018 would be like buying a VHS player & Casset player.

The 212 evo is considered crap buy now as its worse than the Cryorig M9 at almsot twice the price. Now its priced the same as the far superior Cryorig H7.

Your current GPU is actually good for gaming or photoshop/video editing and it even supports 10 bit editing in photoshop. For gaming it would be recommended to upgrade to like Vega 56 or something but still its a solid card.

Yeah...

Get a Nvidia Card instead
>no 10 bit support for photoshop unless he buys a quadro
>Buying a card when he already has a quality card.

Lots of good suggestions given above, here are my two cents :

1) CPU : Look for something new, i5 8400 (quite decent from the reviews)

2) CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO is a very decent/cheap after market cooler. I dont know why people are complaining!

3) RAM : Get a 8GB DDR4 stick not 4x2. And update later on. 8Gb is sufficient for now!

4) GPU: You mentioned 390. I am assuming you have a limited budget by this and would suggest you get AMD 580 8gb (its cheap and deadly at 1080p)

5) PSU: Get a 650w+ Bronze from EVGA/CM/Corsair
