I launched mw3 today and went to multiplayer it said "Your data is too old for this game, and you need to click yes to reset your rank and unlocks" help to resolve this?

Yes it is possible.
Always when I've edited someone's stats, they have never been reset.

Anyone can get reset now because of the new tool. It doesn't matter who does it.
