Not sure what you call this, but I'm not sure how to get it off, the little window thing around programs. On Windows Live Messenger, it did not have it, but I ran a Vista performance test (the numbered score thing) and ever since, it has that window thing around it, just wanna know how to turn it back off (It looks better w/o it).

You know how to edit the registry, correct?

    go to the following key:

    32-bit:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Live\Messenger
    64-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Live\Messenger

Add a new DWORD, name it "AeroWindowFrameEnabled", and set the value of 0 to disable it, or 1 to enable it (you could alternatively delete the entry to allow the system to choose).

Thanks, worked perfectly, yeh registry is easy to get to, and that was a simple thing to do, I was thinking it had something to do with Aero

It is caused by windows showing off aero, and therefore it adds the aero style to everything. Of course, it can be disabled if a program chooses to.
