okay, so i have purchased a CK3 probe and connectivity kit and i have my lite-on drive. is that all i need HARDWARE wise? because i saw on youtube someone had a SATA cable hooked up to it along with the kit, and i dont have a SATA card, so do i need a SATA card to hook it to my computer along with the connectivity kit?

If you open your computer up you might already have a few lying around in the computer to connect to. I would suggest opening up your computer before buying those.

quick question since were on the topic do you NEED a via, or can you use a default sata card if you already have one? (not sure if my computer has 1 tbh, but just wondering if it HAS to be the one everyone else uses, or any VIA can possibly work?)

HAS to be VIA 6421. or youll get the infamous "no comports found during enumeration"
now dont quote me on this one but some drives do work with a couple compatible onboard chipsets

I'm running a Gigabyte Mother board with 6 SATA built into it...i didn't have to buy a VIA 6421. So the best way to test it to hook it up and see if it works...That's what I did and worked great. If your motherboard works the NO you don't need the VIA 6421.
