More than a year back I tried unsuccessfully to "bring the carrier back". Because it was so old I decided to create this thread in hopes of reviving the topic and possibly getting help from others here who may be more knowledgeable than me.

So, here's my understanding of the game, it is not right, just simply my way of making glitches make sense.
GTA Loads objects via a cache, this cache can be added to, and told to spawn specific types of objects.
The carrier is such an object, and it has a custom trigger available to Rockstar and modders.
When the carrier is loaded, it must be unloaded by a "cache wipe".
Cache wipes happen when you enter story mode, get kicked for idling, disconnect from the internet, etc. etc.
The goal of any "carrier glitch" is to bypass such a clear, and keep the carrier online.

Now, in order to understand how we can do this, we have to understand where we came from. Originally the carrier glitch was quite easy, finding a new session is all you had to do. This was patched quickly, and each time a new method was found to bypass the patch. One version of the glitch had you complete the carrier Powerplay, then proceed to vote for another powerplay job, which would be quit out of after start up. My theory (with literally no evidence) is that the glitch worked by tricking your game into applying the "previous cache on quit" which in this case would "reinstate" the carrier. That was the last glitch I recall working (after all it's been a while).

I'm back at the drawing board (quite literally), and have basically mapped out all the ways we used to do it, as well as doing research on ways I could do it in the future. I saw a glitch here posted by @broomtango, which showed that when going to creator from storymode, certain "storymode only" scripts would be able to transfer over into online, an invite only session. Obviously these are two different types of glitches, but it proves that most patches Rockstar do are "inclusive" in terms that they usually only block a single path to the end result.

Some of my theories now?

Load carrier in Rockstar Editor, and bypass "cannot join online from here message"
Load carrier in creator, then try to bring it online (pretty sure creator wipes too, but memory hazy right now)
Load carrier in a playlist with max jobs and see if it sticks when quitting in multiple ways.
Find a way to suspend the game and keep the carrier loaded in the cache.
Try one of the old glitches but unplug the dns 'tactically' to try to avoid calls to clear?
Find help from other forumers that might actually know what they are talking about.

Honestly no matter how little you think you may know, please give input as it may give me an idea I haven't thought of yet.

Carrier is a IPL such as North Yankton... It‘s possible to spawn it creator and make jobs with it, I have these jobs in creator and I think when I was going online the carrier was online too... Haven‘t tested it in the last few months but doubt it will work with anything that worked in past. Only way I could imagine is a job with carrier in that‘s not powerplay

Put any R* created job or custom
Job in the playlist second
Save it, start it
Play the first job and complete it
The carrier will load into the next job.
If you have a R* job as the second job
You can call an aircraft and fly out there.. best if there no time limit on the job. You can also call in an air strike and Lazers will spawn on deck:smile:
Creating a custom job is possible but will take you a considerable amount of time and patience as the carrier is difficult to or won’t spawn in Creator without mods.
Outside of all that it’s unlikely that you will be able to spawn the carrier in freemode :frown: Even if you have a trigger inside the interior:wink:

I suggest going the custom job route...
I have created all types of jobs using the carrier as the main “prop”
I even have a race that has checkpoints in the hangar deck:wink:

Yes, and it's interesting that the carrier does stay loaded in during playlists. I'm playing with the idea of manipulating my connection to "skip" the clear, but that can only work if the game doesn't care, i.e. if unplugging and replugging in my dns only pauses and resumes the ability to join a session, than it's probably pointless. I said this before, but really i'm just trying to find a backdoor way to leave, kind of how joining via the friends list is different than joining from an invite.

Just an idea, maybe try Dave's method of getting it in the 2nd job of a playlist and then join a friend in different targeting mode, accept/cancel, you used to be able to split out of a job invite lobby like that, it would spawn you back in the session with radio on foot

While that looks like a sound method, unfortunately I am doing this on Xbox One, and as of this moment, no save editor exists for XB1. Though i'll be trying different permutations of C CynicalCreator2 's proposed method.

While that looks like a sound method, unfortunately I am doing this on Xbox One, and as of this moment, no save editor exists for XB1. Though i'll be trying different permutations of C CynicalCreator2 's proposed method.

Thats not so great. If you pm a save from XboxOne I will have a look. I dont have V on my Xbox One, so I would of done it.

i just kinda came across this thread and thanks to Navy Davey bc i got the aircraft carrier to spawn in a R* contact mission (Chopper Tail....frozen time at 12:00) and got a cargobob and brought some of my top tier modded cars and showcased them on the aircraft carrier along with my modded DM trailer fits! cant wait to edit them and upload them :smile:

On socialclub rockstargames job have many plenty job that it have aircraft carrier. Deathmatch, capture and race are on aircraft carrier.

Honestly I don't know how they create job on aircraft carrier. But Navy Davey Navy Davey know how lol :wink:

Think OP wanted it in freeroam. Think impossible on X1. PS4 much easier.

Modded job is 1 way

The aircraft carrier prop is low res with a squared off hitbox, the actual aircraft carrier in jobs isnt a prop, its a location, like the slaughterhouse or oneil's farm
