already made sure its not overheating, downgraded my OS back to windows 7 from windows 8, and got it RMA'd from asus and they supposedly swapped the motherboard buuut it is STILL shutting down only when gaming. also cleaned out ALL the dust and replaced my thermal paste. I cant find the damn issue!

Could be a problem with the game?

Or (if you havent already) download ccleaner and let it run and do the registry clean up also.
Does it to all games, already have ccleaner and run it:tongue:

Black screen no error, no blue screen
you positive its not over heating? Have you used something to monitor temps? If it only shuts down in games , I am suspecting a weak/defective PSU or GPU/CPU overheating.

First off download hwmonitor / coretemp or speedfan (watch out not to install toolbar and adware ) and check your cpu temperature
download msi afterburner to check your GPU temps.

Edit: or it could be a faulty graphics card?

Or the last thing i can think of is your power supply, obviously when you play games it puts more pressure on your power supply so it might not be able to cope?

Could just be a bad motherboard. I have gotten a few at them at work. Troubleshot everything, and it would still shut down. Make sure you have nothing else plugged into your machine. A bad USB hub was making a tower we had do it as well.

Could be a RAM stick, the graphics card, the PSU (Even if it was replaced could still be faulty), could be HDD (doubtful), or could just be a random issue with the game (Again doubtful since it happens on many games).
