Basically, you can see the blacks, but anything that's white just blends in with the background.

It's not a simple greyscale, rather looks like something has been spray painted. 
Never-mind, I've figured how to do it on Photoshop. I just placed a greyscale over the top, then simply messed around with the brightness, levels and curves.
