Not a Diet Mod though some people believe it!
How to downgrade to freeboot 0.30 without your original nand
Requirements:
1: Jtag(s) - one that uses a type two keyvault and is currently running freeboot 0.32 and later
2: Programs listed below and donor nand for your motherboard - i have provided one for falcon boards (it has one bad block but i've had no problems with it using these steps
3: Patience
4: Left their fear of messing up at the door
5: YOUR ATTENTION
Tools and kit:
Flash360: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=S32HETED
360 flash tool: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CFZRV3XS
iHC: google the full version
Note:
This tutorial assumes that you have xexmenu installed with freeboot 0.32 or higher and is currently banned, and you either lost or didn't get your original nand like moi (assuming you don't have a xenon and thus need to downgrade)
but you know your cpu key
Step 1:
a: download all of the above and extract them to folders in your desktop
b: we need a dump of your current nand (with freeboot) so copy Flash360.xex and the Media folder to your usb
plug it into your jtag, and load up xexmenu - select the usb and load Flash360.xex
you should get something like this:
Press x
you'll get this:
hit a to save your current nand
now you will be on this screen and watch it progress:
Well done! You have backed up your nand hit back twice till it shuts down your console
Now drag the new flashdmp.bin to your desktop
Now start iHC if it asks for an update then update it =)
Click on the NAND tool
on the setup tab select usb and your motherboard type: e.g. mine is falcon
Minimize that and load up 360 flash tool
Load the flashdmp.bin you should be greeted by "BAD KV" - click on the keys menu item and replace it with your cpu key
tick the one below as well
Click ok
Open the nand dump again and it should have no errors - good to go
Back to iHC
Click on the nand pro tab and then xbr-orig - this gets your original nand (but read this - it actually works with freeboot so ignore the xbr bit
You will be asked to open your donor nand (it's based on your motherboard)
so i'll select my falcon donor nand
then it will ask for the nand you want to convert
select your flashdmp.bin
it will now convert your current freeboot nand to original nand - mission accomplished!!!
Part 2:
Now you have your original nand, you can downgrade
Open the extracted Freeboot 0.30 folder and leave it ready so you can drag & drop
Open your flash dump in 360 flash tool, click extract and tick smc only
now rename smc_dec.bin to smc and delete the log and other smc file
drag the smc.bin to the data folder in the freeboot 0.30 folder simple.
Now backup your original nand if you wish (recommended incase you lose it)
Rename it to 7371
and drag it into the main Freeboot folder
Open easy freeboot v2.0 by Sneaky Peanut
Paste your CPU key, select your motherboard
click on "load nand image" and select your original nand (you renamed to 7371)
it will make a copy named nand.bin in the folder and confirm the action with a message box
You will hopefully have noticed a new green button called "create image"
click that and let it do its stuff (you may have to try it more than once if you get errors)
if successful it will inform you that it has created "Freebootimage.bin" (something like that" in the main folder. Rename this file to updflash.bin and copy it to your usb flash drive
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flashing your new freeboot
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Load up xexmenu, then flash360
welcome back to the main menu:
press a then you'll get this:
###########################################################################################
###########################################################################################
Important moment!!
If you have swapped the keyvault to unban then you hit a
If you haven't because your testing to see if it works or not running lobbies, or even idiots who ask microsoft to start banwaves and play reach online - press B
Either way it will compare keyvaults:
If you swapped keyvaults you should get something like above
If you didn't like I did - you'll get errors like your nand is not zero paired - but ignore it
press a to start the flashIt's there for the sake of being there
When its done press any button to continue
press back twice and wait for the console to turn off
Once off remove the power cable from the console for around 30-60 seconds if you are cautious
known as "powercycling"
Now plug it back in and start up
Now you need to set it up just as you did when it was first powered on - if you have an offline profile with no gameplay it will still be there
Head to memory at system settings and your profile will be corrupted - if they are the flash was a success!!!
Note:
Don't delete them just recover them from xbox live or copy it from a retail console your choice
Congratulations! You have managed to not only recover your "original nand" (or original enough to flash successfuly), downgraded freeboot so you can swap keyvaults like people with xenons - you have flashed as well
Well done!
