If the 360 kernel is in xex format wouldent it be possible to modify a version of the linux bootloader for vunerable 360s to load a modified version of the kernel with either the public xex key changed to a custom keypair or the RSA checks edited out.

If so it could lead to retail on 360 if somebody who would actually realease their work unlike the previous people who have made a custom kernel loader for the unsigned code vunerability

I mean come on that vunerability wasnt just discovered to run linux...

So is it worth setting up an infectus 2 to downgrade and start reasearch on the kernel?

The kernel is not a xex. The kernel is protected by the hypervisor which is also protected by a series of cryptographic measures such as a signature.

Also does the unsigned code vunerability automaticly destroy the os or would it be possible to make a modifican of the ram and jump back into the systems execution order

I'm pretty sure RAM is encrypted with a "per-session" generated key, so it'd take a lot of work to do, and probably wouldn't help.
