Okay, my friend has an iPod but he does not have a computer so he comes to my house to get songs and stuff.

Recently, when he tries to turn his iPod on it shows this

and every time I connect his iPod (to my computer) I get this message.

"iTunes could not connect to the iPod because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPod before it can be used with iTunes."

We understand what it is saying but it wont let him put the passcode in because every time he turns it on the image above show up, and then turns off about 5 seconds after.

Any help would be grateful.

Just put it into DFU mode, and restore it.
If that doesn't work, then try holding home an power for 15 seconds while it is plugged into the computer.

Disconnect and restore, then try again. The same thing happened to me when I shared my iTunes account on 2 different computers.

I don't have an iPod and never have, and he is not "Into technology" so neither of us know what DFU mode is, well he might but he's not here right now. Will one of you AIM or PM me telling me how to do this? lol
(He left his iPod here so I can try and fix it for him)

Try to download umbrella. And click the kick out of recovery mode button first.
