Solved I'm a complete noob

So I'm a complete noob and have no idea really what I'm doing but I want to try to run a mod menu on bo2 so I need help modding my 360 and whatever else is necessary like I said I'm clueless any help is much appreciated

You will need a modified console.

1. Learn first what is a modified console, and what you can do with it
2. Then consider getting one
3. If you get one, then ask help for installing a mod menu for BO2

I have done some looking but there's so many variations of modded consoles and different purposes and such it's just confusing. So I just need some direction on what I should be looking into on what i need to do to my console and for modding my console and once that is done how to run the mods like I said I have no idea and there's so many different things out there it's just a little confusing

To narrow it down a bit, read the following materials and you'll find it really is not too complicated If someone like me can learn the stuff, pretty much anyone can.
Here's some of the best up-to-date guides which describe all there is to know about JTAG/RGH/R-JTAG consoles. They will answer all of the big and/or small questions you may have (keep in mind, R-JTAG kits and older RGH chips such as the CoolRunner Rev C may be difficult to come across because Team Xecuter stopped producing them. However, now that the new CR4 chip is out, users can now utilize the R-JTAG and RGH 2.0 exploits with ease):

Thanks this helps a lot. But with the rgh which is seeming best to me can be essentially 2 consoles in one, one to go online and one exploited, but does this mean you can use your mods online? That's what I don't understand I have seen everywhere that you can't go online with a jtag or whatever but I have seen it done i mean there's tons of people who do so I don't understand that aspect what makes one console able to go online and one not and which one/ones can? So with that said if I want to have a modded console but still play online and be able to use mods online what is best for me?

dual nand right? If you have the money in my opinion its completely worth it.
With a dual nand you will be able to run freeboot (hacked kernal) and stock retail dash both on ONE xbox switch to retail when you wanna run anything legit which you would normally be able to do on a normal xbox. then switch to freeboot nand when you wanna run unsigned code or mods.

Its pretty much just 2 consoles in one.. One normal xbox and one modded xbox you can mod and one and you can do legit things on one.
