What do you have to do to host xp online with the infection? Like step by step?

There should be an option in the menu that infects you with what you're looking for. If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to infect your retail via System Link from your modded console.

My guess is your joining someone's game then trying to host your own XP lobbies, in order to do this you need to click on the infections then search for a online game you will need to be host of the game for it to work.

Yes search something like free for all or get 4 people and look for team tactical or something.
