I connected the probe to the right hole, then the probe lights turned off. Then the CK3 turned off... PC froze and i had to restart it via the button. I put the drive back into an xbox and now it doesnt eject or anything.. What can i try guys? This is for someone else.. not my own drive so i really need a solution here :frown:

Also the CK3 PRO wont turn on with that drive connected to it..

You'll either have to send it to a programmer that can remove the chip containing the DVD Key so they can extract it, or find another way. I've heard doing a lite-on erase might help, but there's also a chance you'll only do more damage.

If you have not already gotten your DVD key then you do not want to use the lite-on erase function yet. Does the drive still respond when in an xbox, meaning does it eject? If you get only a flashing center green LED, then you have damaged your drive.

I do not have the DVD key yet. And when the drive is in the 360, when i press open try on the dashboard, the center LED flashes once but the drive does not open? If i press close tray it also flashes once

Well if your tray still responds and opens and closes when you press eject, then you have not damaged the drive.

Wait, it does not work? Does the tray still respond to the eject command? What happens when you put in a disc?

Your not getting what im saying.. When i press the open tray on the dashboard (the eject button is not on the disc drive atm) it says opening.... but the tray DOES NOT OPEN. the center LED flashes once. It then says close drive but it doesnt shut... For obvious reasons.. (The tray isnt open!) this also makes the LED flash once..

Ahhh, in that case you may have damaged the drive. did you send any commands to the drive from your computer? I don't think you can screw up the firmware without trying to write to it. You may have done damage to the hardware though. Which drive revision is it?

No commands were sent. Just the probe touching the R707 hole.. The probe then started flickering and then the lights went off the probe and the CK3 pro.. PC then froze and i had to force a restart.. It's 74850c

At this point the only thing I can recommend is trying to dump the firmware using the same technique as the 94350C drive. Since the drive is not functioning this may not work, but your alternative is to have a DVD player.
