I have to update after I modded my Wii?

I modded my Wii when it was on Firmware 4.2 and I could play Sonic Colors. I modded it and after I did, I have to update? Is their anything I can do?.... I just started modding on my Wii so bare with me. :lol:

No, don't update your Wii! That will cause it to be bricked. Do you know if it has Priiloader on it?
